Students and teachers from our school have an ongoing tradition of competing in the SGH (Szkoła Główna Handlowa) Charity Run. It is the biggest street race hosted by students in Poland and a great initiative! Each year a lofty goal is set and all the profits generated from the event are channeled to help to achieve it. This year the students of SGH wanted to help out 6-year-old Wojtek, who has an extremely rare genetic sickness: brittle bones. Again, the Monnet community could not be more thrilled to contribute. Despite the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic, both students and teachers ran for Wojtek between April 25th and May 15th in the first virtual edition of the SGH Run. It was a truly great experience. Running brings joy and an endless amount of health benefits. If we can run and help to achieve such a lofty goal at the same time, it brings us even more satisfaction.
In addition, 3 of our students ranked top spots among two categories. Tymon Groniewski took the 3rd place and I got the 1st place in the men 13-16 years old category, while Oliwier Groniewski crossed the virtual finish line the 3rd in the 8-12 years old category. Thank you SGH students, we all had lots of fun and we will see you next year, hopefully on the streets of Warsaw, united to give help to those who need it:)
