During summer holidays, we all visit different places. But most of us have a special place we want to visit every year. Four years ago, I, my friend and our families visited Greece. We stayed on a little island called Skiathos at a cozy hotel Belvedere.

Why was it my favourite trip? We flew there in July, which was just before the high season, and it was not so crowded. I liked the island because we visited lots of small beautiful villages and nice hidden beaches. But the most charming place we saw was the city of Skiathos, which we went to by a water taxi. On Skiathos, we did lots of activities, but my favourite one was fighting with my friend with bamboo on a bridge. I also enjoyed swimming under water with masks. It was fun to look at fish and jellyfish while swimming. We were looking for some nice-looking stones, and we even found some kind of a weird jar.

Afterwards, we took a cruise boat to another island called Skopelos, and on the way there we saw dolphins. They were amazing. On Skopelos, we were on a stone beach with hidden crabs. They were scary, and one even bit me. On the other hand, what was really entertaining was climbing up the small mountain in order to sit and enjoy the view of the bay during the night illuminated by the lights from the villages around. Still, the best thing was that we had a bungalow only for ourselves.

The trip was wonderful. We learned many new things about Greek history and we even tried learning the language (but it didn't end well...). If you have similar experiences, please share them in the next edition of Gazeta Monneta.
