Special Containment Procedures: SCP-136 is only to be opened during testing. It is stored in an isolated bunker, 2000 meters under the Pacific Ocean in -200° Celsius. Any electronic devices are forbidden in 1500m radius. Entry codes are to be given only to the authorized personnel and object security.
Description: SCP-136 is a vintage SONY radio measuring 27cm × 20cm × 15cm. The object does not require any source of power to work, and it stops functioning only when at -200° Celsius. The radio's serial number is 0136, but there is no record about its history. SONY refuses to admit that the radio was produced by them.
SCP-0136 functions similarly to a virus. When there is any electronic device in a 1000m radius, SCP-0136 sends a high frequency signal which fries all electric circuits in the affected device. Every device affected by SPC-0136 transmits another high frequency signal to all devices nearby.
A simulation created by Dr Scientist revealed that SCP-0136 would destroy 96% of all electrical devices in the world in approximately 35 minutes if its signal reached any coast. An event like this would result in a technological apocalypse, and it would drastically affect the fate of humanity.
