Christmas is a great time for movies, and I found a very good one called Klaus. This
animated film made by Sergio Pablos tells a special story about how Santa Claus
came to be with a modern twist.
Klaus is about Jesper, a spoiled young man who works as a postman. His father
sends him to a snowy town of Smeerensburg. Jesper’s job is to get people to send
more letters, but the town is full of unfriendly people who fight without any real reason
and don’t care about letters. Things change when Jesper meets Klaus, a quiet man
who makes toys. Together, they start spreading joy amongst the kids in the town,
which also influences their parents. As they continue to work together, the town
becomes a much happier place that’s full of friendship.
The movie looks amazing! The way it is drawn is truly unique, which makes it stand
out from other movies. The voices of the characters are also really good. Jason
Schwartzman, who voices Jesper, and J.K. Simmons, who voices Klaus, make the
characters feel real.
There is one small thing that might make you wonder: why does Klaus decide to help
Jesper at the start? The movie tells us about Klaus’s sad past, but it doesn’t fully
explain why he agrees to work with Jesper. This part could have been a little clearer,
but it doesn’t ruin the story.
Overall, Klaus is a wonderful Christmas movie that teaches us how being kind can
change the world. It’s a perfect movie to watch with your family and friends during the
holidays.
